This policy explains how Appraise Claims LLC ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit www.appraise.claims (the "Site"), request a quote, manage an appraisal, or file a claim appraisal.
Effective date: October 15, 2026 · Last updated: 10/15/2026
We are an independent insurance loss appraiser / appraisal firm serving nationwide. In our work, we usually receive personal information from insurers, policyholders, their representatives, and others involved in a disputed property or casualty claim. We handle it under our engagement letters, the policy's appraisal clause, and the privacy and data security laws that apply to us.
This policy covers information collected through the Site and information we receive in an appraisal matter. Where a client, such as an insurer, has its own privacy notice or contract terms for the data it gives us, those also apply, and the stricter protection controls.
By using the Site, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
We collect personal information from four kinds of sources:
We do not buy lists of consumers or collect information from social media to build profiles.
We limit what we ask for to what an appraisal needs. Please redact full Social Security numbers, full bank or card numbers, and medical details that a file does not require before you send it. Do not send us information about matters in which we have no role. If you send more than we need, we may return or delete it, as our engagement and the law allow.
We use personal information to carry out appraisals and operate the Site, and for no purpose we have not described here.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use information from an appraisal file to market to anyone, or for any purpose unrelated to that appraisal.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with outside companies for their own marketing.
Impartiality and transparency. If we serve as an appraiser or umpire, the process may require us to share what we receive from one party with the others. We tell you at the start how we handle communications, and we do not use information from one party to the unfair disadvantage of another.
Service providers. We require our service providers to protect your information and use it only for the services they perform for us.
Anonymized data. We may use de-identified or aggregated information, such as general repair cost trends, that does not identify a person.
The Site uses cookies, pixels, and similar tools to keep it working, remember your preferences, and measure traffic.
Keep the portal and appraisal files free of trackers. Pages where you upload or view appraisal documents should not send file contents, names, or claim details to advertising or analytics vendors.
Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. We honor opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control where required by law.
Call recording. If we record a call or statement, we tell you first where the law requires consent, and we follow the recording laws of the state where the call takes place.
Your rights depend on your state and on the kind of information involved. Information in an appraisal file is mostly held for a client under contract and for a legal proceeding, so some rights may not apply, may be limited by the engagement or by law, or may need to go through the party that gave us the information.
Access and correction. You can ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct information you believe is wrong. For information in an appraisal file, we may refer you to the insurer or the party that gave it to us, and we cannot change a record that is part of a pending or concluded appraisal in a way that would alter the file or the award.
Deletion. You can ask us to delete personal information. We may keep information we need for an engagement, a legal claim, professional records, or to meet a legal duty, as described under "Retention."
Marketing choices. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any message and tell us to stop marketing calls or texts. We will still send engagement, billing, and matter notices.
State privacy rights. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and port their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and profiling. These laws vary in who they cover, and many exempt certain insurance-related or financial data, or businesses below a size threshold. We do not discriminate against you for exercising a right. To submit a request, use legal@appraise.claims. We will verify your identity and may ask for more details before acting. You may use an authorized agent; we will ask for proof of authorization. If we deny a request, you may appeal.
California notice at collection. In the past 12 months we collected the categories listed under "Information we collect," for the purposes under "How we use information," and disclosed them to the recipients under "How we share information." We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We keep information as described under "Retention."
Health information. If an appraisal file includes health information, such as in an injury or bodily-harm claim, we handle it under the confidentiality terms of our engagement and applicable law. We are not a health plan, and HIPAA generally does not apply to our appraisal work directly. If a client contract treats us as a business associate, we will follow it.
Complaints. If you have a privacy concern, contact us first at the address below. You may also contact your state attorney general or department of insurance.
Security. We maintain a written information security program with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the data. These include encryption of data in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, multi-factor authentication, secure storage of photos and documents, employee and contractor training, vendor oversight, and an incident response plan. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and do not share your log-in details.
Security incidents. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you, our clients, and regulators as the law and our contracts require. Insurer clients often require prompt notice, so we report incidents to them within the time our agreements set.
Retention. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, our engagements, and legal and professional record rules. Appraisal files are generally kept for 7 years after the matter closes. We then delete or de-identify them. We may keep information longer if a legal hold, dispute, or law requires it.
Children. The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online.
Third-party sites. The Site may link to insurers, courts, regulators, or other sites we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own, so please review their policies.
Accessibility. If you have a disability and need this policy in another format, contact us using the details below.
Changes. We may update this policy. We will post the new version with a new "Last updated" date and, if the changes are significant, notify you by email or a notice on the Site before they take effect.
